Perth is one of the world’s most isolated cities, but don’t let the “lonely planet” tag fool you – there’s plenty here to keep you occupied.
While the city’s adult entertainment is not as comprehensive as Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, you’ll still find a discreet network of brothels, escorts, erotic massage joints, swingers clubs and strip bars quietly keeping locals and visitors entertained.

Unfortunately, the legal framework surrounding sex work is far less accommodating in Western Australia than it is in other parts of the country.
Whilst prostitution is legal – brothels, street work, and public solicitation are not. You won’t find the same ‘full service’ luxury resorts that are popular in Victoria, NSW or Queensland. Street prostitution is outlawed and heavily policed, and employing someone else for sex work is technically illegal (under old “pimping” and brothel-keeping laws).
However, despite the ban on brothels, Perth has a curious track record of largely tolerating these venues, and even unofficially regulating them.
Indeed, the state of WA is home to the country’s oldest and longest running brothel, Questa Casa – which doubles up as a tourist attraction!
Still, in comparison with the rest of Australia, Perth (and WA) is one of the last holdouts of old-school sex work laws. NSW, Victoria, Queensland, NT… all have moved to decriminalize or license sex work in more liberal ways. It’s just SA and WA that cling to the past.
The punting industry is affected by an imbalance where the independent worker is perfectly fine, but any hint of a third party or a street stroll is illegal. Enforcement is famously inconsistent… by most accounts, police focus on serious crimes rather than going after consensual adult work.
Escort Industry
Since WA bans third-party management of sex workers, anything that looks like a classic escort agency on paper could, in theory, be prosecuted.
So how does that translate to the real world?
Well, a handful of long-standing “introduction services” and private clubs operate quite openly as de facto Perth escort agencies, framing themselves as venues where you “meet” companions rather than hire them directly for sex.
Take Ada Rose in Fremantle.
Officially, it’s a “gentlemen’s club” where you can enjoy a drink and some attractive company. Strip away the gimmicks and it’s a boutique brothel with a roster of women who offer everything from social time to full service, all under the banner of private introductions.
Because clients negotiate directly with the ladies, Ada Rose sidesteps the most problematic bits of WA law, yet it runs as smoothly and openly as any licensed venue in the eastern states.
Just look at the longevity (see below) – “for over 30 years!” – and the fact that it says this loud and proud on a public-facing website!
Ada might be the most famous agency in town, but it’s not the only one.
Popular options include:
- Hany’s Escorts – Providing ‘room rental’ for independent working girls and discreet couples. Their website lists over 20 Asian beauties.
- Foxy Perth – A high-end VIP companion outcall service. They have a wide mix of nationalities and, just in case you’re feeling adventurous… they have silicone sex dolls for hire, too! 🤯
Of course, only a very small percentage of Perth’s escort population are on the books of these agencies. The majority can be found on independent escort directories like Scarlet Blue (100+ ads) or Escorts and Babes (600+ ads).
There’s also hundreds on Locanto, which is generally the cheapest option.
In terms of Perth’s demographics, you’ll find plenty of local Aussie women, a good number of fly-in fly-out escorts from the Eastern states touring Perth, and some international providers (often from Asia or Europe on working holidays).

Perth Brothels
Brothels are technically illegal in Perth. But the law is interpreted in such a way that several well-known venues have been servicing Johns for years without much issue. The tricks, once again, lies in the presentation.
Most operate under the guise of “massage” studios, “gentlemen’s clubs” or “relaxation centres” – anything but an actual brothel on paper. The official line is that you’re paying for the room or the massage, and anything else that happens is a private arrangement between consenting adults.
The rest is just solid “read between the lines” marketing – and word of mouth.
Ultimately, we’re left with a stable little ecosystem of semi-open, semi-underground venues dotted around Perth:
Ada Rose – 205 South Terrace, Fremantle WA 6160. As mentioned, the famous Ada Rose has been serving Perth for well over 30 years. They do incalls at this Fremantle venue, and outcalls around the whole of Perth.
City West Massage – 11 Aberdeen Street, Northbridge, Perth WA 6000. An erotic massage parlour (we’ll cover those below) that doubles up as a full service brothel. Over 50 girls listed on their site, so quite a big setup.
Club 316 – 316 Charles Street, North Perth WA 6006. A pleasure parlour tucked in a suburban strip, known for a mix of Aussie and Euro girls. They have a lavishly-designed BDSM dungeon for kink play.
Langtrees – 71 Burswood Rd, Burswood WA 6100. The most famous bordello in WA, often dubbed “Australia’s largest bordello brand”. Founded by madam Mary-Anne Kenworthy, Langtrees is just over from the Crown Casino, no doubt profiting from the spillover crowd.
Red Light Districts
These days, Perth doesn’t have a proper red light district, but it sure used to.
A long time ago, Roe Street in Northbridge was the place for brothels, streetwalkers and after-dark antics. Back in the early 1900s, the entire strip was lined with working girls plying their trade behind curtained windows.
The authorities eventually cracked down, bulldozing the Roe Street houses in the 1950s and scattering the industry into side streets and suburbs.
In the modern era, the action is far more fragmented with much of the sex trade based online.
Northbridge still has the closest thing to a red light vibe – especially James Street and the surrounding blocks – thanks to its concentration of strip clubs (home to Voodoo), adult shops, and late-night bars. On a Friday or Saturday after 11pm, the crowd is a swarming mix of nightclubbers, backpackers and the odd working girl on the hunt for a private client.
If we look elsewhere, Victoria Park and Burswood have a cluster of “massage” parlours that are basically open secret full-service venues. Osborne Park and Malaga hide a few in industrial units, their signage as bland as possible.
As far as an “official” red light district though? Not really a thing.
The Price of Sex in Perth
Alright, so let’s take a look at the common pricing of sex in Perth:
First thing to say is that the city is pretty expensive compared to Melbourne, Sydney and the major hubs.
Brothel Prices: For a standard full-service session at a Perth brothel, typical rates are around $150-$180 for 30 minutes, and $250-$300 for 1 hour. Higher-end parlours like Club 316 and Langtrees charge a lot more, closer to $250 for 30 mins, $350 for 1 hour. This is higher than Sydney or Melbourne, mainly because there’s not as much competition to drive down the prices.
Escort Prices: These are more stable and consistent with other regions. If you go through an agency, the rates tend to mirror independent prices or slightly above because the agency takes a cut. Expect $350/hr minimum. Mid-tier independents are usually in the $250-350 bracket. High end companions, like those found on the VIP directories, can and do charge a lot more. From $500 to $800+ per hour in many cases. The lowest prices we found on the classifieds (like Locanto) were around $200/hr, with a few offering short-time central-based outcalls for 30 minutes.
Erotic Massage: The traditional ‘budget’ option for those seeking a happy ending rather than FS. Normally around $80-$120 for 30-45 minutes. If FS is negotiated, price will typically align with a low-to-mid tier brothel.
Street Prices: Rare and not recommended. We’ve seen various reports where the price bottoms out at around $100. Hard to say with any accuracy since there is no defined market rate.
As a general rule of thumb, Perth’s standard $250/$300 doesn’t go as far as it would in NSW or Victoria, much to the disdain of many local punters!
Erotic Massage Shops
Erotic massage shops are a huge part of Perth’s adult scene.
The legal status of these shops is… murky, but generally a bit safer than brothels: providing a massage is legal, after all, and what two consenting adults do behind closed doors is often overlooked. Most AMPs are left to their own devices as long as they keep a low profile and don’t piss off the neighbours. (Not always easy!).

Needless to say, Perth has numerous Asian-run massage shops offering erotic finishes, body slides and all kinds of sensual goodness. Notable ones change names often, but areas like Victoria Park, Cannington, Osborne Park, and the Perth CBD always have a few.
These are some of the most popular choices with the punters in Perth – or at least those who are price-conscious! – since you can get a basic rub and tug for as little as $80.
At the other end of the scale, you have fancy establishments like Esquires (11 Aberdeen St) offering a much more luxury experience (with prices to match).
Locanto is also rich pickings for independent masseuses, with everything from tantra practitioners to femdom “milking sessions”. Crikey.
Sex Clubs In Perth
If swinging or group sex is your thing, you’re in luck. Perth is widely considered the swinging capital of Australia!
The city has a bunch of sex clubs and networks of private parties where you can pursue some extracurricular fun. Most of the events are held in collaboration with Red Hot Pie, which is definitely worth joining if you want to get access to private parties.
Club 103 – 103 Abernethy Rd, Belmont WA 610. A well-established swingers club in Perth, operating from a purpose-built pleasure den. It’s fully council-approved and designed for play: multiple themed playrooms (a Dungeon room for BDSM, a Voyeur room with one-way glass, a group room, and a couple of private rooms). Decent mix of newbies and vets; some nights attracting groups of up to 60 revellers. Weekends are busy, but Wednesday is also a popular night for swingers.
Infusions – Belmont area. Just a stone’s throw from Club 103, Infusions is a newer swingers club that has racked up 3.9K followers on FB. They run events Thursday through Sunday.
These are the two major groups, but there are a TON of smaller sex parties, orgies and gangbangs organized through popular private networks.
As we mentioned, Red Hot Pie is the #1 resource (it sponsors both of the above). Other decent options to consider are Adult Matchmaker and SDC.
For the gay crowd, check out Perth Steam Works (369 William St, Perth WA 6000). It’s the top gay bathhouse/sex club – basically a sauna with a maze, private cabins and glory holes.
Perth Strip Clubs
What about titty bars?!
Perth has a small number of well-known strip clubs/gentlemen’s clubs where you can enjoy pole dancing, topless stage shows, and private lap dances.
The scene is nothing like what you get on the east coast, but it’s not too shabby.
The main clubs for your bucket list:
Voodoo Lounge – 174 James Street, Northbridge WA 6003. A lap dance bar slash cabaret lounge where you will find a host of stunning dancers parading around the intimate stage in little or no attire. Entry is about $20 on weeknights, $25 on Fridays/Saturdays.
Penthouse Club – 230 William St, Perth WA 6000. Short walk from Voodoo, named after the famous magazine and often featuring Penthouse Pets and KeyGirls as dancers. Private dances are usually around $50 per song.
The Doll House used to offer a more intimate strip bar feel over in the North Perth/Leederville area but it is, sadly, now closed. The venue is apparently relaunching as Kings and Angels. Not sure if it’s under the same management; we’ll update this when we know more.
Side not – all Perth strip clubs enforce no touching of dancers unless a specific show element allows it. And they’re pretty strict about this.
Local Sex Shops and Adult Stores
In need of toys, lubes, lingerie or naughty novelties?
The adult retail scene here is fairly steady… no doubt helped by Perth’s remoteness, with people eager to stock up on fun items locally, instead of having them shipped in.
Some popular venues for adult shopping:
AdultShop – 112 Barrack St, Perth WA 6000. This famous adult retailer actually started in Perth (founded by entrepreneur Malcolm Day). The Barrack outlet is a a decent-sized shop in the city centre.
Whisper Shop – 95 James St, Northbridge WA 6003. This shop operates in tandem with the famous Club X (not sure if they’re still connected), offering an upstairs section for adult cinemas/peep shows that really set it apart from most modern sex shops. A classic old-school affair.
Libido – 97 James St, Northbridge WA 6003. Next door to Whisper. Known for friendly, helpful staff and a good mix of mainstream sex toys.
