Unfortunately, the legal framework surrounding sex work is far less accommodating in Western Australia than it is in other parts of the country.

Whilst prostitution is legal – brothels, street work, and public solicitation are not. You won’t find the same ‘full service’ luxury resorts that are popular in Victoria, NSW or Queensland.

However, despite the ban on brothels, Perth has a curious track record of largely tolerating these venues, and even unofficially regulating them. Indeed, the state is home to the country’s oldest and longest running brothel, Questa Casa – which doubles up as a tourist attraction!
