Sex work is decriminalised in Darwin, and throughout the Northern Territory, meaning escorts can operate legally offering both incalls and outcalls.
While these changes have been in effect since November 2022, we’re yet to see the emergence of the various escort agencies and companion providers that are present in states like NSW, Victoria and (more recently) Queensland.
Our Darwin Escorts Guide looks at the top destinations for finding local courtesans, with the emphasis on the major freelance directories that operate Australia-wide. Darwin might not have a prolific industry, but there are still hundreds of private sex workers providing full service in the NT.
First Stop: The Major Directories Covering NT
The shortage of Darwin-exclusive escort agencies means that, as things stand, both punters and escorts rely on the major Australia-wide directories to arrange their bookings.

Scarlet Blue is perhaps the most well-known of the private escort boards. It doesn’t have huge number of Darwin-based escorts (15+), but it’s useful for meeting touring girls.

Escorts And Babes has much better coverage in Darwin. Many of their listed escorts are Asian or from other parts of the world, but we spotted a few local Darwin natives too.
Xlamma
Xlamma has one of the larger selections of NT-based escort listings. We found over 135 private companions, including a mix of agency girls and independents. Excellent choice.

Escorts Nearby is divided in to two categories: escorts with photos verified and those with unverified profiles. Of the 100+ Darwin companions, most are unverified.
Ivy Société
Ivy Société focuses on elite companions (manually verified) and has good coverage throughout Australia, but Darwin is sadly a weak spot with just a handful of profiles.
Simple Escorts
Simple Escorts feels like more of a classified listing than a freelance directory. The ads come thick and fast from both freelancers and agencies. YMMV.

Langtrees is a trusted name in Australia’s sex industry and is run by the well-known madam, Mary-Anne Kenworthy. As well as operating brothels, the company she founded now provides advertising space for escort services across the country.
The girls on the site are mostly independent with some agency escorts and should not be confused with being employees of Langtrees; however, the site has a good reputation for its accurate listings and providing comprehensive information about price, service and bio.
You can also register a free account on the site which means you can create personalised lists, submit reviews and generally get a better experience.
At present, there are just over a dozen escorts listed for the Darwin area with some of these being touring ladies so availability varies. Prices vary but are around the $400/$500 per hour mark with Gold/VIP escorts charging considerably more.
The Freelance Market In Darwin
The freelance escort market in the Northern Territory (NT), including Darwin, is shaped by the Sex Industry Act 2019, which decriminalized sex work and aims to provide a safer and more regulated environment for workers.
These charges were warmly received by Darwin-based sex workers, ushering in some of the world’s most progressive sex work laws.
Unlike other states, the NT’s approach is to remove the legal constraints that often push sex work underground, aiming for more transparency and safety in the industry.
Freelance sex workers are allowed to operate independently without the need to register with the government or obtain specific licenses. Crucially they have better access to legal protections against discrimination, violence and exploitation.
In essence, a Darwin escort can choose to work from private homes, hotels, or motels, provided they follow general planning regulations. The main caveat being that they are not allowed to operate near schools or childcare centres.
Despite these changes, there are still some hurdles for anybody looking to operate an escort-based business in Darwin. While sex work businesses have been decriminalised, they are still subject to strict planning requirements, and regulated by NT Worksafe.
What does this mean in practice for punters?
Not much has changed.
It has been the case for many years that most escort/client relationships are struck up via classified ads and freelance escort directories. This remains the case, but it’s a welcome step forward that the women (and men) providing these services now have much better legal protections in place.
Outcalls via Brothels & Massage Shops
When Queensland decriminalised sex work, one of the first noticeable changes we saw was that brothels (previously legal) began offering outcall services (previously illegal).
Darwin doesn’t have the same assortment of popular brothels, certainly nothing to compare to the luxurious cathouses in NSW and Victoria. However, the adult venues where full service is available have indeed begun to publicise outcall services.
We have spotted several massage parlours offering outcall services for punters who don’t want to visit the shop in person.
Like Tammy Massage, for example:
The rates are quite typical of what we’ve seen reported by other punters around Darwin.
If a massage shop is charging $100 for 30 minutes, or $150 for 1 hour (the going rate), you can generally expect the same service provided by outcall to cost around $300 to $350 per hour.
This is cheaper than many of the freelance courtesans, but with the trade-off that you get a different calibre of girls working the massage shops compared to the top premium directories.
In most cities, we advise against using a brothel or massage shop’s outcall service unless you have a specific favourite girl who you know is active through that shop. The same applies for Darwin and The Territory.
In most other cases, you’ll get a better experience (for a better price) by cutting out the middleman and hiring the freelancer directly.
Call Girls on Adult Personals and Classifieds
While outcall services from brothels and massage shops have become more accessible, they are still few and far between. Many punters in Darwin turn to online classified listings, like Locanto, to find independent escorts.
We can argue all day about the sensibilities of using a totally random classified site to find escorts, instead of an escort directory with a manual verification process, but the bottom line is… many punters still use them.
And it mostly boils down to price.
The escorts on classified sites are generally the cheapest you will find online.

Locanto is the most famous of the classified sites to still allow adult listings (RIP Craigslist and Backpage).
Its Darwin page currently boasts 291 escort adverts — a mix of independents and agencies/AMPs advertising their newest girls. New ads are posted daily and the entire Personals section resembles something of a punter’s paradise.
Just remember that the bait and switch scam is still widespread. It’s not uncommon to reply to a listing and organise a ‘meet’ only to find a completely different girl on your doorstep. And with no review system in place, these girls have every incentive to bend the truth.

There are more than a dozen listings on this classified site but, unlike other directories, the ads are not verified. The selection has a bit more variety and includes trans escorts as well as some budget options (from around $200 per hour).
